Diesel Truck could save you money in the long term

Do you own a diesel truck? If you do you’ll have noticed that the price of this fuel has been on the increase at an alarming rate. There was a time when diesel was the much cheaper fuel option than gasoline (petrol to UK truckers!) Diesel vehicles have always been more expensive to buy than their gas run counterparts – but the fact that they were cheaper to fill up always gave this discrepancy a kind of balance. Not any more it seems. Diesel vehicles are now more costly both ways. Not great news if your truck relies on the black stuff to run and possibly worrying if you’re not sure whether you should buy a gas or diesel truck: If you’re pondering the above sort of investment, especially if you want to use the truck as a tow vehicle, you could look at the following ranges, Mitsubishi, Nissan Diesel and Hino.

Although diesel is costlier to buy, the bottom line seems to be that you get more eventual mileage for your money if you fuel up this way. So there are savings to be made, it just doesn’t necessarily feel like it when you fill up at the station or garage and watch everyone else paying far less than you are for a full tank of petrol/gas. Often people get put off diesel ruin vehicles because they view them as noisy, dirty and primitive. This may once have been the case but nowadays vehicles designed to run on diesel are far more highly tuned in terms of engineering and these faults are dealt with. It’s not like it used to be.

Dodge Ram trucks, for example have been reviewed as offering a pleasantly smooth ride with low noise interference. Oh, the wonders of technological advancements. But seeing, or in this case, experiencing is believing – so if you are unsure and still think that a drive in a diesel vehicle will be uncomfortable, utilitarian and noisy go for a test drive in on of the Dodge trucks range and you will probably be pleasantly surprised. You may even convert!

So try to put to the back of your mind any preconceptions about diesel trucks being unresponsive and lazy – that was then, this is now. The Dodge Ram 3500 is anything but sluggish and gives a smooth ride on all manner of terrain. Current diesel v gasoline prices look as follows at the time of writing. Figures are for the USA only 178.4 for gasoline and 231.4 for diesel, this shows a rise of 2.3 in relation to diesel costs and one of 10.0 for gasoline.
